Shared virtual reality, built and run.

VRLab, Inc. has developed virtual-reality systems and shown them in public: multi-user VR on consumer headsets with IHMC researchers, an underwater telepresence prototype and a line of portable VR stations. It also ran San Francisco VR meetups and demo nights from 2014.

VRLab Arena

Arena put several players in one virtual space on standalone Oculus Quest headsets, aligned with the room they shared; it was demonstrated at Oculus Connect 6 in 2019, with a public arena outside the convention center.

Developed by IHMC researchers working with VRLab.

Prototypes

Working prototypes: underwater telepresence, demonstrated in public in 2014, and a shared-room mobile VR app (2014 → 2016).
